On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of the best Bond films in the series. George Lazenby is severely underrated and it's a shame he only did the one film. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out. You won't regret it.

Yeah, The Living Daylights isn't bad. The best part is the pre-credits sequence. But if you want a badass Dalton Bond, watch License To Kill, where he basically takes the role of Yojimbo, and plays sides against each other on his quest for revenge.

haven't seen that one in a bit. I remember Lighter dies right? Also, skinny ass young Benicio Del Toro.

I agree. Goldfinger is the movie to watch to get into Bond films. But On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the best. I watched it again the other day sometimes before Halloween and for the first time I cried during the ending even though I knew what happens! Lazenby was more than exceptional as James Bond. Also I think that he was better suited for the love story than Sean Connery would have been. You can believe that Connery is Bond, but with Lazenby you can believe that even Bond can fall in love. What I love the most about this movie is that it stays very true to the original novel. There were some changes here and there, but it wasn't changed as drastically as You Only Live Twice or The Spy Who Loved Me(which by the was because Fleming made sure would not become a movie.) I think every Bond fan should read Ian Fleming's pulpy suspenseful novels and anyone wanting to get into the Bond fandom should read them before watching the movies. And OHMSS is in my opinion the best Bond movie and Fleming's best book, with From Russia With Love at a close second. Everyone should give it a chance.

Sorry i made this so long xD

Don't worry about it, I totally agree. I'm actually in the process of re-reading the books (which I haven't read since high school). It's weird because if I had to pick an actor to play the Bond I imagine when I read, it would probably be George Lazenby. I don't know, he was just more character than he was star (much to his chagrin, I'm sure).

Yes, he was very suited for the role. I prefer Dalton, who by the way was called upon for OHMSS, but declined. I heard he also declined in For Your Eyes Only. For me the top five are:

1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
2. From Russia With Love
3. For Your Eyes Only
4. The Living Daylights
5. Goldeneye.

I'll have to work out a top ten :D
